The Birthday it was

As you may know Flexicar turned four on the 19th of August, and I just wanted to say how awesome it was to have so many calls and birthday wishes – some members even sang “Happy Birthday” on the phone!

Okay we know that you also called to get your half-price birthday booking, you little devils, but hey! That was still much appreciated.

In clear retrospect we might need to appoint a call centre for Flex’ fifth Birthday since we had, by my own count, close to 3,256 calls that morning.

At this occasion I’d also like to thank you, dear Flexicar member, for being…a Flexicar member. Because if we’re still here providing the wonderful service that Flexicar is four years and 70 cars later, it’s thanks to you, beautiful Flexicar members.

So thanks to you all, I leave you with these pictures of the official Flexicar launch four years ago, when Flexicar was named Flo and still a toddler.

Midsumma Flexicarnival

Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival has been celebrating queer culture for over 20 years.

Flexicar was a proud sponsor of the Festival this year and we braved the heat on that steamy Sunday, 18th of Jan to be part of the Carnival.

I  thought I’d put a few pictures on what appeared to be the biggest Midsumma Carnival ever.

A moment of thanks to our members

We’re in the throws of marketing planning for 2009 for Flexicar. And it prompted me to give thanks to our members. Because every month last year, the #1 or #2 means of attracting new members was, well, you!

In 2008, because so many of you told your friends, colleagues, bosses, etc about Flexicar, we not only welcomed hundreds of new members, we also handed out over $10,000 in driving credits to you and another $10,000 of driving credits to those you referred. On top of that, we were able to add over 15 new Flexicars for you to drive.

Don’t you just love it when a phrase like “Win-Win” has some real meaning?

So please, keep up the good work with the referrals. And we promise to do the same.

Sydney Locations, Free Memberships and Driving Hours

You’ll be pleased to know that we’ve launched TWO new locations in Sydney.

Priscilla has found a new home in Kings Cross, just around the corner from the station. And Tweety has flown the coup and is now living on Crown Street Surry Hills right outside the Clock Hotel.

February Flexicar Invoices

Just a reminder, we are at the end of another calendar month and that means that you will all soon be receiving your Flexicar invoices for February.
All bookings which are completed in the month of February will be on your February invoice, but wait until the 7th of March before checking for any free hours, discounts, special offers or surcharges.
On the 7th of March you will receive an email from Flexicar stating that your invoice is finalised and is ready for viewing on line. Login to your Flexicar account and go to the ‘My Payments’ section and check your invoice total. We will then charge your invoice by direct debit on the 14th of March.
Flexicar ran a special offer in February – 2 days for the price of 1. This is a limited offer and applies to only 48 hour bookings which occur on weekdays. That is, the booking must start after 7am on Monday and end before 7am on Saturday. No exceptions and no back-to-back bookings (the offer is 2 days for the price of 1, not 4 days for the price of 2).
So wait until you receive the invoice notification from Flexicar on the 7th, then check for your specials and discounts.

January deals from Flexicar

Marketing sometimes gets a bad rap, but there is something to remember about marketers – they’re usually the ones that come up with the great deals for customers. Who else do you think came up with that fabulous word we see so much in January: “SALE”.

So the Flexicar marketing team has come up with a couple of offers for the potential and the new Flexicar member that we think has something for everyone.

For new memberships, we’re waiving the $50 joining fee. So any new membership over this period* won’t be charged the $50. Join online at www.Flexicar.com.au.

For existing members, book any car on any weekday* (excluding Australia Day Holiday 28th Jan) for 24 hours – and only pay for 4 hours! This rate applies to 24 hour, 48 hour and 72 hour bookings only AND PICK UP must be between 7am Monday and 7am Friday.

Please Note: When you make a booking, the pricing won’t change automatically, we will adjust your invoice down at month’s end. Make your booking.

*Both offers run from Wednesday 9th January to Thursday 31st January. 24 for 4 offer applies to weekday rentals only.
